    Excellent Historical Read

Really like the realism created in this series which is very well expressed in this series. A compelling read. I really like the characters as portrayed by the author. Very enjoyable. Look forward to reading the next book in this series....

    The Bernicia Chronicles

Story moves along at a good pace although I am not sure if I find the main character as appealing as others might. The historical period was a violent and brutal time so the gore and killing are probably appropriate. Having said that I am not put off reading more.

    Good read

If you like historical fiction this is a great read. The stories move at a good pace and you watch as the world changes and the hero grows.

    Takes you there

A great read for lovers of this period. Interesting characters and enough detail to make you feel you are there in the midst of it. It is let down by some poor editing. For example use of slang like "off of" instead of "off" is grating. Also, although verbless sentences can work to make a point sometimes, they can really interrupt the narrative flow when overdone, as they are here. A professional editor would help a lot! However, despite these frustrations, I have bought the next few books, because I want to follow what happens to Beobrand.
