    Cute read with pirate jokes

The Blurb: Lilly Walsh is used to keeping things buttoned-up and aboveboard. After all, the last time she hooked up with someone in a wedding party, it nearly cost her her wedding planning business. Thankfully, those rules don’t apply when she meets a handsome stranger in a hotel bar. One bad pirate joke leads to the best night of her life, but come morning, she’s got a wedding to plan. Lincoln Reid never imagined he’d see the woman who rocked his world last night and then ran out on him ever again. But there she is, planning his best friend’s wedding with the same passion and drive that brought him to his knees. She’s adamant that wedding planner and best man can never mix, but that just means he’s got four weeks to make her see him as more than just a one-night guy. Because he’s itching for more than one night...or five, or ten… My review: This was such a cute read. After sneaking away from her one-night stand Lily comes face to face with him a week later when her clients come in to introduce her their best man. She pretends not to know Lincoln and it stinks but he goes along. She has a strict no dating anyone in the client's inner circle. Even though she is very attracted to Lincoln. He plans to convince her he's worth more than just a one-night stand. They decide that after the wedding takes place they will try dating. Lincoln finally gets Lilly to share why she has such a strict dating policy. All the banter between these two is great. Both sets of best friends are great additions to the story and sources of fun. Especially Mo. This was my first read from author Mariak Ankenman and I really enjoyed her writing style. I'm looking forward to going back and reading Pru's story and whatever else this author puts out. I received an ARC from Entangled Publishing for an honest review

    a five-star read that isn’t a problem

The Best Man Problems by Mariah Ankenman a five-star read that isn’t a problem. This is number two in the Mile High Happiness series and they can be read as stand-alone. Lilly Walsh was a character I wanted to alternately pat on the back for being a superhero and gather into a massive hug and tell her that there were people in the world who cared about her and loved her and showed her that you don’t have to be afraid of love, even when no one has shown you how. This was such a funny story, even if it did have the worst jokes, some of them were so bad they were actually funny. Who knew a pirate joke could change a life. This is a great story filled with compelling characters that you need in your life.

    Charming

A charming story. Both Lily and Lincoln have been burned in a past relationship and are wary of starting a new one. That doesn’t stop their sizzling attraction. This is a witty and funny story with wonderful characters. These two get to know each other and explore their options for a future together. There are some steamy scenes that add spice to the story.

    Romance for the wedding planner

The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman is a romantic comedy that I had a little trouble with. The storyline could have worked. Lily has a one night stand with a guy who ends up being the best man in the next wedding she is planning. What I did like: I mostly liked Lincoln’s character and he totally won me over with the ending. Lincoln’s friends were adorable. If they had their own book I would read it. Lilly’s friendships and her success at her job What I didn’t like: Lilly was successful at her job and seemed to be unstable in life Mo was just crude to me. Other readers may like her character but I just found her annoying I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. You can see my full review at More Than a Review dot com where I rate the level of sex, violence, language and drug/alcohol use in books. sexual content - a lot of the book was sexual banter, sexual language, and some physical scene and remembering previous encounter drinking - casual drinking language

    5 Pineapple Pizza Stars!!

More good times with Mariah, the woman can write a great story. I didn't put this one down! Once again Mariah outdoes herself with this comical story between uptight Lilly and a one night oops and now best man for the wedding she is planning, Lincoln. Lilly is the detail oriented, twisted a little tight, and public face of Mile High that she partners with her two best friends. Lilly has a firm rule of not mixing business and pleasure. And doesn't she get the surprise of her life when the wedding she's currently working on and has been working with the couple bring their best men along with them to a meet. He's best friends with both the bride and groom and will be taking over their business while they're on their honeymoon. Lincoln is also the on off she had, so out of character for our Lilly. Lincoln is enjoying his time in Colorado, getting a much needed break from the business he runs and spending time with his friends all the while doing his best to charm the bejeepers out of Lilly. While she's doing everything she can to keep him at arms length but the chemistry between these two just sizzles right off the pages. Wowza! And of course it wouldn't be normal or right without Mo chiming in with her carefree, no filter spirit encouraging Lilly to "nail that man". Balancing out the act is the Pru who does her best to give Lilly some sound advice here. Lilly has good reason to avoid any sort of contact with her clients and that past mistake seems to run her life. Mariah's gift of telling a good story infused with over the top humor is a gift to the reader. Watch how these two resolve their issues along with a little help from their friends. But will she or won't she? A must read to find out. This was an easy breezy five slapping good stars from me.
