  • The Billionaires Gamble

I truly enjoyed the book, I appreciated the writers dialogue between Margie, and Evans. I found the sexual tension between them very alluring. Can't wait to read the other books.

The Billionaire’s Gamble by Ava Miles is book one in a four part mini-series called Dare Valley Meets Paris (I received the story for an honest review). Evan is a self made billionaire, living in Paris, although living a life most dream of, he feels lost. A bet with Rhett Butler and Jane Wilcox (nice to read about them again!) results in him having to be a "normal person" in Dare Valley, where it seems the characters get exactly what they need, even if they don't realize it right away. Enter Margie, who rents Evan a room, who is on the brink of fulfilling her dream of owning a bakery, who is also trying to find her self and passion. A sweet friendship and attraction simmers between them, even though there are secrets neither is ready to share. The short and sweet story lays the ground work for the next story in Paris, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next!

  • Secret billionaire, sexy baker

Part one in this miniseries and it is off to a great start!  Margie is getting ready to start her dream of a bakery. But first she has to get it finished and travel to Paris to learn some of a Masters techniques. When he meets Evan at the inn she owns, she knows her life is about to change. But with her history of secretive men, will she take a chance on him? Evan is a bored billionaire inventor whose ideas have dried up. Nothing sparks his creativity anymore. So when he takes a side bet from Jane and Rhett, he comes to Dare Valley under an assumed name and as a normal, working guy. When he meets Margie, he knows there is something special about her but knows he can't act upon any feelings he has for her. He has started inventing again and he knows it is leading to something big. When he finds out about her loathing of the rich he knows he can't tell her his true identity. And even when she comes to Paris, his stomping grounds, he must keep up the ruse or lose her before he ever has a chance to see where it can go.  Great start and can't wait to see where their journey leads!!

  • Great start to a wonderful mini series

Ava Miles has done it again! She has created a beautiful story and has wowed me once again. Even though I wasn't exactly thrilled at first that it was a mini series in four separate parts and there was a cliff-hanger at the end of each instalment, after reading the first instalment, I was so captivated by the story that I was kinda glad it was in four parts - because that would mean that the story would be longer than the usual novel. For those who don't like cliff-hangers, I suggest that you wait for all the four stories to be out before starting it since the publication date of each story is not very far apart. The first part - The Billionaire's Gamble is set mainly in Dare Valley. I love the reconnection with the Dare Valley characters such as Jane, Rhett, Jill and especially Arthur. There is a lot of anticipation in this first part. Evan and Margie are strongly attracted to each other but both hold back. Evan because part of his bet included remaining celibate for the whole month, and Margie because of her past. I really loved that feeling of anticipation. This story is definitely going to leave you hungry if you love cinnamon buns. I could literally smell the cinnamon buns as I was reading and that is one of the reasons why I love Ava Miles. She is able to bring you to "that place" through her writing. Really can't wait to read the rest of the parts. ** I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

  • Great start!

4.5 stars Great start to what to I'm sure will be a sweet love story! This is part one of a 4-part serial, so be warned that it ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. Evan is geek turned sexy billionaire playboy who has lost his creative side. He loses a bet in Paris and agrees to move to Dare Valley for one month. The catch is that he must live off of one month's wages from his first job, and be celibate. He figures he can do the second, until he meets Margie - the owner of the B&B he is staying in. As his time in Dare Valley ends, they book look forward to Margie meeting him in Paris where she will be apprenticing with a baker. Margie also feels an attraction to Evan, but the secret he is keeping has the potential to tear the apart before they even have the chance to get together. I loved seeing Evan being "normal" by helping Margie paint her new bakery, as well as his enthusiasm as he begins to create again. It was also nice to see couples and characters from previous books in the Dare Valley series. Overall an enjoyable read, can't wait for the next installment! I received an ARC for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.
