    Love this!

Such a beautiful story!! Soooo emotional. Devney Perry’s writing flows so well and hooks you. So many little “life lessons” in this book. Hard to read in some spots but you know you have to. Kinda makes you realize with everything life throws at you, you gotta go with the flow and get through it! ❤️

Amazing 5 Star Read! Love a Good List!

This book has all the feels!!! Poppy has lost her husband. She knows she needs to move on and sets out to complete her husband's birthday list. A list of things he would like to do by certain birthdays. The first on the list is karate. While there she runs into Cole, who was the young cop who originally came to her house to tell her about her husband's death. Cole is the perfect hero and is so patient. The only thing he wants is to spend the rest of his life with Poppy. But first, he is going to help her complete Jamie's list. Get ready for Devney Perry's quirky characters who you will fall in love with. A case in point is Randall, the grumpy old man who patronizes her restaurant, The Maysen Jar. This is a book you definitely do not want to miss!! 5 stars all the way

    5 "In a heartbeat" Stars

"In a heartbeat" 5 stars are not enough for this book! D*mn, can this author write a beautiful book. It was very emotional. I'm not a crier, but I may have shed a tear or two. After the dead of her husband, Poppy Mayson sets to complete his birthday list (kind of like a bucket list) he wanted to complete before 50 (so cool!! made me want to make a list for myself). While trying to complete the list, Poppy meets Cole Goodman and with his help they will try to complete the list. Cole is my new favorite Hero by Devney. He was so patient with Poppy, and such a good guy (like his last name). While not a fan of slow building romance, THIS ONE WAS PERFECT!! couldn't be any other way. Loved the secondary characters (Jimmy and Randal were my favorites) and hope some of them gets a book. (like Tuesday Belle) If you love emotional, beautiful, feel good romance..Then YOU SHOULD GET THIS BOOK when it goes live.

Beautiful story about love & moving on!

The Birthday List was an amazing story. My heart was completely on board from the first page. The story of how and why Poppy has to fulfill her husbands list was so sad, yet I felt like the main message of this story is hope, fate, love and moving on. I loved every word of this book. All of the crazy coincidences that Poppy and Cole experience made me cheer. I love how fate works in our lives, even if this is fiction. It really goes to show that some things are meant to be, and that we need to enjoy the ride of our lives. The idea of a birthday list was so much fun to read about. All of the things that Jamie put on his list, and Poppy had to do, made me smile. It was such a bittersweet way to say goodbye, but it was the perfect way for her to move on. I loved that Cole had a big role in helping Poppy. These two were so incredibly sweet together. It was a fantastic slow burn romance. The supporting characters were all wonderful as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, as well as anything else Devney Perry writes.

    Beautiful, emotional journey!

What a beautiful story! I'm gonna be one of the first ones to say that having a deceased spouse as a major part in a book rarely works for me, however what Devney Perry did here was just beautiful. The way she wrote how Cole helping Poppy on the journey to letting Jamie go was stunning. I've never read a more perfect way to introduce a new love into someone's life who wasn't ready to let go of the last love. Poppy has been mourning Jamie for 5 years. She knows she needs to get to a better place and maybe completing her husbands birthday list will help get there. Just before Jamie was murdered, instead of doing a bucket list, he created a birthday list of things he wanted to do before each of his birthdays. Since the police never found his killer, Poppy is hoping that completing his list will bring her some closure. One of the first items on the birthday list was taking a karate class. When Poppy shows up to class, she runs into Cole Goodman. Cole is instantly drawn to Poppy. He's never had a woman capture his attention so thoroughly. Knowing that she lost her husband, he knows he has to tread carefully or he may scare her off. The way Cole integrated himself into Poppy's life and how patient and kind and protective he was of her will make you fall so far into love with him. I can't stress enough how perfect the author wrote Cole's character and his pursuit of Poppy in this delicate situation. I was riveted! This is one book that will stay with me for a very long time.
