    A blissful reading experience!

The heart-stopping romance between British Alexander Knightley and Violet King provides a blissful reading experience! The development of their relationship was perfectly paced with just the right build-up of tension and romance. I was hooked from their first meeting and I read this in one sitting. I enjoyed their interactions, their witty banter, the dynamics between them was so sweet and romantic! Frankly, I fell head over heels for these two endearing characters. Violet King was betrayed by her college boyfriend and she has never been able to get over what he did to her. An escape to London seems to be the best opportunity to prove to herself that she can make a fresh start and get her life back on track. Working for an arrogant, short-tempered workaholic may not be easy in any sense, but it is definitely life changing. Alexander Knightley is a distinguished barrister, whose sole focus is his work. Violet has been hired as his administrative assistant and she needs to find a way of building trust with him. Her reluctant, uptight boss is a difficult person to win over. But despite his moody and mercurial temper, there are many likeable sides to him. And Violet handles him so well, she is efficient, bubbly and he likes her smart-mouth, she is never afraid of speaking her mind. Alexander has his reasons for being standoffish and private. The world of the Bar is stressful and he has a lot to live up to, his late father was a star barrister. He is driven and focused to be the best at what he does but his dedication consumes him. And behind a façade of brilliant lawyer, he feels strongly about his failed marriage. Even though he is drawn to Violet, he is convinced that he can only bring her pain and disappointment. Their relationship is not fleeting or convenient. But sparks fly whenever they are together and they complement each other perfectly. She broadens his world and he is giving her renewed confidence in her future. They truly bring out the best in each other. I highly recommend this book, it’s one of the best I have read all year. I loved the first person dual POV, these two charming, vibrant and completely opposite characters took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This book can be read as a standalone, although characters from previous books do make cameo appearances. I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

    Review: The British Knight

The British Knight by Louise Bay is a standalone story set in the same world as King of Wall Street, Park Avenue Prince, and Duke of Manhattan. This is the story of Violet and Alexander and is possibly my favorite of these to date. Well paced and well written, engaging throughout and told in dual POV I couldn't get enough of these two seemingly opposite characters. Violet is in a rut. She just got fired, is still nursing her wounds from a devastating betrayal four years ago and has no plans for the future. When an opportunity arises for her to take a breather for a few months in London she is more than ready to leave New York in her dust. Meeting the most gorgeous man she has ever laid eyes on while there isn't a hardship either. Alexander Knightly is all about his career. Being a barrister is all he has ever wanted and he works night and day to be as successful or better than his father was. He had always looked up to and admired his father and is following the same workaholic tendencies. When the beautiful Violet shows up in his life she is the catalyst he never knew he needed to change the path he is on. Emotional, witty and charming this book was amazing. Enjoy!

    Excellent!

What an engaging couple! This is a standalone and although I've only read Park Avenue Prince and I know some of these characters are from the other books in this series, it didn't cause me to enjoy it any less. Violet and Alexander have chemistry that you feel the first moment they meet -- it's tangible and intense! They're definitely opposites in personality but I loved how the author allowed them to change and I loved that I was able to witness those changes. It's steamy, funny, emotional and intense -- if you love contemporary romances with steam, I highly suggest you give this series a try!

    Loved This Book!

London is one of my favorite cities, so, the setting of this story was like another character in addition to Violet and Alexander. I loved the setting, the time in London, and the obvious affection the author has for the city...it translates to a book that not only is about the human characters but also about where they are and the way it impacts their lives. I loved Alexander, how British he was, how willing he was to live life with a "stiff upper lip" and how surprised he was when he realized that he was living a life without the emotion that made that life better. Violet is the life that is better. And, there's an irony in this as she doesn't see it. She sees herself as a little foundering and unsettled, and she is...but she is also learning who she is in the same way that Alexander is, but while she figures out who she is, Alexander figures out who he isn't. the combination of the 2 works very well and makes for a wonderful romance with the London backdrop. I loved this book, all of it. The characters, the writing, the setting, the pacing, the entire book just flowed and was a pleasure to read. I recommend this title.

    Loved every single word!!!

O.M.G!! I have a new Louise Bay favourite! This book *sigh* is one I'll definitely be re-reading time and time again! Violet King’s life in the States isn't going great, so when she's given the opportunity to go to London for a few months, to figure out what she wants to do with her future and to sort herself out, she jumps at the chance! London based Barrister, Alexander Knightley, is focused solely on one thing - his work. With little time for anyone or anything else, he's uptight, moody and extremely arrogant! Oh – and extremely sexy!! When their two worlds collide, the level of attraction they feel toward each other is beyond anything they've ever felt before. They just can't get enough of each other! But all good things must come to an end, right? Especially since Violet’s due to go back to the States after her three month contract ends... The British Knight is a standalone read, with a few characters from Louise’s previous books making an appearance. I'm a massive fan of Louise Bay, so this was such a lovely touch! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed they'll be a book for Darcy – she needs to find a man! A massive 5 out of 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for The British Knight – a fantastic hot, sexy read!! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.
