    Review: The British Knight

The British Knight by Louise Bay is a standalone story set in the same world as King of Wall Street, Park Avenue Prince, and Duke of Manhattan. This is the story of Violet and Alexander and is possibly my favorite of these to date. Well paced and well written, engaging throughout and told in dual POV I couldn't get enough of these two seemingly opposite characters. Violet is in a rut. She just got fired, is still nursing her wounds from a devastating betrayal four years ago and has no plans for the future. When an opportunity arises for her to take a breather for a few months in London she is more than ready to leave New York in her dust. Meeting the most gorgeous man she has ever laid eyes on while there isn't a hardship either. Alexander Knightly is all about his career. Being a barrister is all he has ever wanted and he works night and day to be as successful or better than his father was. He had always looked up to and admired his father and is following the same workaholic tendencies. When the beautiful Violet shows up in his life she is the catalyst he never knew he needed to change the path he is on. Emotional, witty and charming this book was amazing. Enjoy!

    A blissful reading experience!

The heart-stopping romance between British Alexander Knightley and Violet King provides a blissful reading experience! The development of their relationship was perfectly paced with just the right build-up of tension and romance. I was hooked from their first meeting and I read this in one sitting. I enjoyed their interactions, their witty banter, the dynamics between them was so sweet and romantic! Frankly, I fell head over heels for these two endearing characters. Violet King was betrayed by her college boyfriend and she has never been able to get over what he did to her. An escape to London seems to be the best opportunity to prove to herself that she can make a fresh start and get her life back on track. Working for an arrogant, short-tempered workaholic may not be easy in any sense, but it is definitely life changing. Alexander Knightley is a distinguished barrister, whose sole focus is his work. Violet has been hired as his administrative assistant and she needs to find a way of building trust with him. Her reluctant, uptight boss is a difficult person to win over. But despite his moody and mercurial temper, there are many likeable sides to him. And Violet handles him so well, she is efficient, bubbly and he likes her smart-mouth, she is never afraid of speaking her mind. Alexander has his reasons for being standoffish and private. The world of the Bar is stressful and he has a lot to live up to, his late father was a star barrister. He is driven and focused to be the best at what he does but his dedication consumes him. And behind a façade of brilliant lawyer, he feels strongly about his failed marriage. Even though he is drawn to Violet, he is convinced that he can only bring her pain and disappointment. Their relationship is not fleeting or convenient. But sparks fly whenever they are together and they complement each other perfectly. She broadens his world and he is giving her renewed confidence in her future. They truly bring out the best in each other. I highly recommend this book, it’s one of the best I have read all year. I loved the first person dual POV, these two charming, vibrant and completely opposite characters took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This book can be read as a standalone, although characters from previous books do make cameo appearances. I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

    Captivating Story!

This was my first Louise Bay's book. Really! I don't know why I haven't read books from this author before. This story is captivating. I like stories were makes place in London. The chemistry between Alexander and Violet, the two strong main characters, is so explosive! I really like their story. You have to read it! I'm looking forward to read or listen more from this author. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

    Another Great Louise Bay Novel!

It was a good read. It was light hearted, fun, if not somewhat predictable but in a good way. Violet is a waitress and slightly bitter with the world. Who could blame her? She was done wrong in the worst of ways. She goes to London, meets Alex, loses her phone and it all goes from there. What I like about this book is it’s tasteful, has a plot, the characters are full of life and spunk and develop as the book goes on. That seems to lack in some books. Overall, it’s a great read. I love Louise Bay’s books and to read this Arc was a real treat. Can’t wait for the next one!!!

What an engaging couple! This is a standalone and although I've only read Park Avenue Prince and I know some of these characters are from the other books in this series, it didn't cause me to enjoy it any less. Violet and Alexander have chemistry that you feel the first moment they meet -- it's tangible and intense! They're definitely opposites in personality but I loved how the author allowed them to change and I loved that I was able to witness those changes. It's steamy, funny, emotional and intense -- if you love contemporary romances with steam, I highly suggest you give this series a try!
