    An entertaining read

A fun story about the early days of Butlins holiday camps in the UK. Since it is such a foreign concept to North Americans, it was interesting to learn all about it. It is not all about Butlins though. The story takes place the year after the second world war when the people of England are starting to put their lives back together. The three main characters, all Butlins girls, have serious issues to deal with but still manage to enjoy their time working at the holiday camp. How they handle their situations and overcome difficulties makes this an entertaining read. The author does a good job of taking you back to a very different time and place.

Yes Butlins was good fun . To work

I did enjoy looking back to my days as a red coat in Minehead,. I didn't stop laughing from the minute I went into the gates to work, until the end of the season. This book shows the fun side,I think it would only be enjoyed by people who had been in the camps. This is a very innocent book and could be read by a teenager. The storyline was a bit dull and unrealistic No swearing in the book. Witch is a good thing. Sorry but it will be for the young to read.
