Everything was done very well in this book. The writing was good, it had a creative storyline that was captivating and unique, the characters were well-developed, the world-building was done well, and the twist at the end was unexpected. I love when books surprise me, and that’s exactly what The Cage did. As you may know, I’m kind of getting sick of Young Adult books, but I just can’t stop myself from reading them! All too often lately, I’ll pick up a YA book only to find that I don’t enjoy reading about teenagers and all their drama. The Cage, however, wasn’t like that. While it does have its YA elements, this is a YA book that adults can also enjoy. The twist at the end also surprised me. I did not see that one coming at all. Ahhh, and did I ever feel for Cora (during the twist and throughout the entire book)! She is definitely a character you will feel for. While the world-building was well-done, we still have limited information about this world, as the characters whose perspectives we read from (it tells the story through the perspectives of six characters, with Cora being the main character) don’t get to learn too much about it. I’m looking forward to learning more as the story progresses in the next book.

    Thanks for your feedback!
