    Thanks for your feedback!

    An epic family story.

According to the author, The California Dashwoods is a modern take Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility but I must confess that I've never read that book. To me this was just a great epic family story. While it didn't span decades, it did cover a year or so, in detail, of the lives of Abby Dashwood and her children Elliott, Greta, and Marianne. Elliott's father died and left them nearly penniless. As the oldest, he assumes responsibility for keeping the family together. The California Dashwoods isn't really a love story – not in the truest sense. It's the story of a family struggling to come to terms with the death of their husband and father. I was totally captivated by the story and couldn't put it down once I started it. There is a love story of sorts for Elliott and Ned but it takes place mainly in John's thoughts. There are many obstacles and twists before Elliott and Ned get their HEA. The suspense of how things would turn out kept me glued to the story. I absolutely loved this book and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
