    Thanks for your feedback!

I was a huge fan of David Gemmell so I approached this book with enthusiasm but also a slight fear that it would simply be a poor regurgitation of David's earlier work. I was pleasantly surprised. The characters had depth and whilst parts were reminiscent of David's work it had it's own flavor. I would definitely like to see the story of the city's past told in particular more information on the Seraph. I did find the jumps between characters somewhat disjointed and I would have liked the character Elijah to have had more develop around him. It seemed he was quite pivotal initially but then was relegated to the background as other characters came to the fore. I recommend it for anyone who enjoyed David Gemmell's work
