  • An inescapable vampire dystopia.

Love, love, love this book! Tana is a strong and interesting character who works through who she is and who she wants to be – doing whatever it takes to get there. All the different types of vampire folklore come together in this book to create an inescapable vampire dystopia. Gavriel is my favourite character. He walks the line between insanity and bloodlust, yet he has these deep feelings for Tana. Aidan grows as a person – I wanted to decapitate him for the first half of the book. Winter was interesting. Midnight was one of those people I would love to punch in the face (love the fight scene later in the book!). Jameson and his crow are my favourite Coldtown inhabitants. Pearl irritated me – for so many reasons. And Lucien is an excellent antagonist. One of my favourite vampire books. A must-read for readers of dark fantasy and vampire fiction.
