Brimming with adventure, humor, and romance!

A delicious read from the very first page! CONFECTIONER'S GUILD infuses magic into every bite paired with bittersweet storytelling ingredients that are sure to tantalize mystery, fantasy, and romance readers alike. The worldbuilding dripped with visuals that practically danced on one's tongue. But it is the characters who stole my heart. Wren, a young woman plucked from the streets, toils in a corner bakery until the plots of kings and power hungry men spoil one rose-petaled cupcake of her making. She is as sweet as her confections and as feisty as the spices flavoring her creations. Together with an unforgettable menu of new friends, a budding romantic interest, and a handful of enemies, Wren is forced to solve the murder she is framed for or forfeit her life and the life of a crowned prince. And the best part? Consuming this book is calorie free despite the rich descriptions and mouth-watering foods catering each page. Brimming with adventure, humor, romance, and intrigue, CONFECTIONER'S GUILD is a winning recipe you won't want to miss! I give this book 5 pink frosted-tipped cupcakes.

This is a fast-moving tale involving magic and clever-thinking people. It has many twists and turns and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last word. Well worth reading.

    Full of suspects.

A very unusual murder mystery. Set in a country where there are guilds for different occupations such as confectionery, cheese makers, brewers, poisoners etc. There are also Gifted people in each guild but these people are kept secret. The story is based on what happens when a guild leader is murder. Wren, a newly found gifted confectioner, is the suspected murder. What follows is a really well written murder mystery with plenty of suspects, dark people and possible a love involvement. Enjoyed this book.

A Story of Guilds - of power and intrigue

Wren has a gift for making deliciously memorable confections. She is invited to the Confectioner's Guild so that the GuildMaster may speak with her, intending to have her join the Guild. But murder follows, and although Wren becomes a Guild member, she also becomes a murder suspect racing to clear her name by finding out who actually committed the crime. Tasty descriptions of confections compete with clues to possible suspects throughout the book. The story ends with a twist to the intrique, rather like the twist on a well decorated cupcake. I only wish there had been some recipes! A good read; I'm off to get the next adventure of the Confectioner's Guild.

Murder mystery, politics, romance and food - what more could you want? I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
