    An original heroic fantasy

The worldbuilding of this book is superb. It really made me feel like I'm a part of some RPG. Like I'm exploring a whole new and interesting world together with main character Michelle. The main character is real. At the start of the story she's a bit naive and shallow but the turn of events changes that. She's also hyperactive, merry, inventive and insecure. While some would say Michelle's behavior and actions are impulsive and stupid, I think it fits her age. She's only fifteen and therefore not all the choices she makes can be logical or realistic. But, during the story she learns a lot about herself and her talents. She's growing up. The main plot is interesting, full of action and plottwists. The subplosts are a great addition too. They tell us more about the history of Starrs and important side characters. For example, the reason of the war between Arriscyal and Teasmal. The love-interest, prince Jayse, is dull, almost spineless in comparison to main character Michelle. I would’ve liked a stronger love-interest for her. This story had a lot of side characters. Some interesting, some not so interesting. In my opinion, this story had too much side characters. Some appeared in the middle of the story to disappear a few chapters later, never to be heard of again. These side characters weakened the plot a bit. Some of the side characters were almost grotesque, but that fit the RPG like setting of this story. Recommendation: I would recommend this story because it's an original heroic fantasy, with a likeable main character, a wonderful setting and interesting subplots.
