    Thanks for your feedback!

    Great period crime drama

In this first installment of the series, you get a chance to know the real Eliot Ness, not the Kevin Costner movie Ness or Robert Stack Ness. He may have been a flawed individual, but he was morally strong and stuck by his convictions, even when he paid a high price for them. I would much rather read of the past and this novel, while fiction, is very fact based. I would recommend reading M.A. Collins Nathan Heller book "True Detective" first to see why Ness left Chicago and took the impossible job he did in Cleveland. This is a very carefully researched novel and brings these historical characters to life. Max A. Collins may be the "heir" to Spillane, but he is a much more accomplished and versatile author.
