  • great 2nd book with fun characters

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC! This was a great 2nd book in this series. It is as snarky and fun as the 1st. Sam is a really fun character and I really liked the way she dealt with what life was throwing at her. It moves the story away from the bookstore and takes it to New Orleans. I liked the way Sam and Clive work together to stop the vampire plots. There are twists and turns I didn't see coming. Can't wait for the next book! October can't come fast enough.

  • Great series

Reading about Sam and Clive and their world is great. Make sure you read the books in order to see Sam's growth. I love the way Seana mixes all of the supernatural and mythologies in her books. Can't wait for the next one.

  • Urban fantasy mystery.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of THE DEAD DON’T DRINK AT LAFITTE’S (Book 2 of the Sam Quinn series) by Seana Kelly in exchange for an honest review. Sam Quinn, werewolf and newbie necromancer, has been staying with her boyfriend, Clive, while her business is being renovated. There’s a bit of a problem because Clive is the master vampire of San Francisco and because, as a general rule, vampires look down on werewolves. This has caused tension within the vampire coven and made them vulnerable to outside attack. After one such attack, Sam accompanies Clive and his most trusted lieutenants to New Orleans to investigate the source of the attack. However, vampires are twisty-minded, so it’s difficult to understand their motives or even to keep track of the plan. The events in New Orleans have Sam doubting herself, Clive, the others in her party, as well as their new acquaintances. It’s time to get dusty. I like this book as well as the first one in the series, THE SLAUGHTERED LAMB BOOKSTORE AND BAR. I recommend this book to fans of urban fantasy mysteries. #TheDeadDontDrinkatLafittes #NetGalley
