  • It was pretty good

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me an arc to this book. I have. I ed feelings about it. I absolutely loved the first third of it. It’s about three couples invited to a dinner party. The host seems to know more about each of them than they do. Secrets are shared and all is forgiven until deaths start occurring. This is where it began going wrong for me. Many od the characters became extremely unlike able and I found the ending weird..

  • Lacking thrills

The book didn't do a great job of keeping me interested, and focused too much on the game that was played during the party. The payoff at the end, and the reveal of whodunit, was just too bland and the book wasn't nearly as twisty as it claimed to be. The very beginning drew me in, but the rest failed to deliver.

  • Dark, twisted thriller

This was a quick, twisted read. The synopsis sounded exciting yet the story itself didn't live up to it.

  • Boring

Lacking in any suspense or mystery. Read like a report. Very boring and disappointing.

  • A pretty cool read!

Wow. I picked up this book around 10pm, thinking I'd just read the first few chapters to get a feel for the story. What a mistake! I instantly got sucked into the tension and refused to put it down until the final mystery unfolded. This book is laced with secrets, lies, and twists that kept me glued to the page from start to finish. It starts with a dinner party. Innocent enough, right? Except the couples decide to play a game. Each person writers a secret on a piece of paper and then burns the secret without disclosing it to his/her partner. The purpose is to feel a sense of release, a cleansing for your secret, while the partner forgives the secret without ever knowing what it is. Except people start dying and it looks like the game is at the heart of the mystery. There were times toward the end that the plot felt a little outlandish, but that didn't take away from the intrigue. It was a fast paced read, with dynamic characters caught in impossible situations. Ted, our protagonist, was my favorite as he worked to unravel the mystery and keep his family together as the world around him comes crashing down. Overall, it was a very entertaining read and I recommend! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!
