    Definitely on the Reread pile

Alright, first off, if you haven't read any of the previous 8 books in the series, go away until you are caught up. There will be series spoilers in this review, because if you haven't read the first 8 books in the series, what are you doing reading this review?? Get thee to a bookstore or library and read the books!! I promise, you won't regret it. Then you can come back and read this.... It's okay. I'll wait. :) So, the ending to Eighth Grave After Dark left us all hanging when Charlie basically poofed and then reappeared elsewhere with no memory at all. Talk about the mother of all emotionally charged cliff hangers. As soon as I saw this ARC was available, I jumped in with both feet, arms waving wildly and shot off my request. Snoopy dances were held when my approval came through (just sayin) and I couldn't wait to dive in. You know how they say what you do the first day of the new year is what you will be doing all year long? Well, I my friends, was reading this totally awesome book. Bodes well for the rest of my year, no? I don't want to spoiler this book in any way for those who love Charley, Reyes and the motley crew of friends and family they have collected. All I will say is run, don't walk, to go get this book. There was something about watching Charley not know Reyes, that just ripped out my heart. *hand on my heart* Not gonna lie, I was a bit choked up. It was like Charley was doing penance, trying to change her nature, but her personality and big ole heart couldn't be constrained. I was torn between rushing through the book and taking it slowly, savoring the read. After listening to the last 4 book in audio format, I have their voices in my head. But I plan on listening to this for a reread later in the year. It was just that good. 5 star read, all the way. Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

    Memory, heartbreak, love, and gods.

A year of waiting to see if Charley Davidson Farrow would find her way back to those who loved and love her, Darynda Jones has answered that question in style and opened new questions. Charley in her usual way even as Janey with no knowledge of who and what she is, still managed to be true to herself and to those who loved her enough to let Janey find her way back to herself on her own. Darynda Jones has done it again and has left me waiting eagerly for the tenth installment of the Charley Davidson universe.

    Best yet

I am so glad to have found Darynda Jones' books. Otherwise I would have missed out on something great. Just like the others of this series it keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is enough familiar to make you shake your head and say "Oh Charley" and a lot of character growth too. Can't wait for the next one!

    Amazing! Go and buy!!!

ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. description I'm in love! Seriously, people, I'm gonna become Darynda Jones freaking stalker, because her books are to die for!!! I've waited so long for the new Reyes and Charley's book, it's not even funny. But now that I finally got to read this amazing and awesome story, it's all is forgiven and forgotten. That is of course only for the next few days. Then I'm going to star feeling all grouchy and miserable, because the wait for the next book is going to slowly but surely kill me. But first let me tell you why I love the ninth book so much. For those of you, who didn't read the previous book, I strongly suggest that you do so or at least skim through it, because you might get confused when you start reading this one. This story picks up where the last one ended and that was on a big fat cliffhanger that blew my mind. Buy you can also guess from the blurb what happened. So, it's safe to say that I was a bit concerned by how this big dilemma is going to affect her and all that she's come to love and care for. Of couse, I should have trusted in Darynda's magic powers to make the best plot possible. Charley is still the same badass chick that we all know and love. She will also stop at nothing to help her friends (the living or the dead), even if that means risking her life countless times. But the best part was and is always going to be her wicked humor. There were ups and downs but she conqured them all. Although, at times she did need a little bit of help from her friends and her gorgeous, mysterious and sinfully sexy Reyes. And let me tell you, those two were explosive together. I admit, it took them awile to get there but when they did, wow! The Dirt on Ninth Grave has angst, mystery, danger, love, jealousy, heartbreak, loss, lots of action and so much more. Also, we get to know more about who or better said what Charley and Reyes are and what to expect from their future. And you won't believe who they get rid of, finally!!! All in all is this a story that won't disappoint. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I highly recommend! :) Safety-gang: Safe.

    Dirt on the ninth grave.

It was awesome and I can't hardly wait for the next. I loved the way the story flowed. And how it ended, makes me wish the next one was out.
