But Jake Swift is not like anyone else she’s ever met! Jake was not only charming, funny, knew something about dragons, but they just clicked. He was a huge flirt who really wanted to get to know Sylvia and her dragon! Throwing caution to the wind they celebrated, getting to know each other extremely well! Jake could never get Sylvia out of his head. Why did she leave like she did? But life and family intervened, and they had to come first! Having “Connections” in the world of dragon-shifters, Jake pushes for some time on Lochguard, to go and meet Sylvia on her home turf. When he finally gets there, meets Grant and Faye, starts getting the third degree from nearly everyone he meets, Whoah! Finally, Jake is ushered into see Sylvia. Sylvia greets him sitting on sofa, mug of tea in hand. Hi, Jake don’t mind Connor he’s a bit protective these days. Connor is muttering something about her “fainted half an hour ago”. Jake is concerned, she’s pale, thinner, dark circles under her eyes. “Five kids huh”, “are you ill” he asks? to break the ice. Sylvia blushes. They talk. “You left” he says, “I thought it best” she replied honestly. A baby is heard to cry and carries to where Sylvia and Jake were sitting. “Mum, We can’t get her quiet” comes from a female voice. Sylvia answers “bring her downstairs”. Connor comes in holding a fussy baby with hiccoups. All Jake can do is stare. “This is Sophie Rose, your daughter Jake”, Sylvia tells him. The resemblance is uncanny, same nose, hair color, features. The baby will not settle down!. I have a daughter he thinks! Jake tells Sylvia “let me Hold her”. Jake takes Sophie, cuddles her close, begins to hum a lullaby. Sylvia watches crying. So begins a whirlwind adventure as only Jessie Donovan can spin! Sylvia learns more about herself and family, as she and Jake learn more each other. Of course, there’s got to be some bumps in the road and a twist or two, Jake is kidnapped, the MacAllisters have some dark family secrets. Then there’s Sylvia and Jake, can they really be a couple? Can lightning strike twice? Can Sylvia start again? Will Jake stay around? To get the answers to these and other pressing questions, you have to pick up the Dragons Chance for yourself! I was given an ARC but the Review is all mine and freely given.
