  • The Master is back!

Thrilled to have Courtney Milan back! And what a sweet ride this one is. I especially loved how she messed with the third act complication structure to create something very fun. Take that, purists who insist there were no people of colour in historical England! Milan did her research and having this window into a world not spoken in the history books is intoxicating. Fun is all over this story. The town of Wedgeford is delightful and I look forward to revisiting it.

  • A taste of perfection

A romance that never sinks into the depths of having a villain or a tragic misunderstanding and yet somehow still manages to keep me gripped by every page until the happily ever after and beyond. The only thing wrong with this book is how hungry you get reading it.

  • Simply A Joy to read

I received an ARC of this book to read through a review crew. All opinions are my own. The Duke Who Didn’t by Courtney Milan was simply a joy to read. Chloe Fong and her father live in the village of Wedgeford, home to the Wedgeford Trials, an annual festival that attracts people from all over England each year. Jeremy Wentworth, Duke of Lansing, attended the trials each year until three years ago when he asked Chloe to marry him, and she sent him away to become more serious. He’s returned this year, having concluded that although he is serious about Chloe, he is just not a serious person in general. Chloe never expected Jeremy would leave for so long, and now that he’s back, she not sure she can trust her heart to him because what if he leaves again? Jeremy decides to show Chloe that she is the one for him by having her make a list of what he’s looking for in a bride because Chloe is all about her lists. With Jeremy as the sunshine one and Chloe as the grumpy one, this friends to lovers story is lighthearted and joyful, perfect reading for this annus horribilis, and I highly recommend it. • Extremely enjoyable

This was a romantic and enjoyable book, with believable and lovable characters. It's my first experience with Courtney Milan's writing, but it will not be my last.
