  • Great Regency Romance!

This isn't a "love at first sight" story. The hero and the heroine aren't the least bit impressed with each other when they first meet, so their budding romantic relationship becomes a delight to witness. Cassandra LInfield is dedicated to collecting fossils and has no plans to ever marry when she begins to work with the geologist Lord Edward Sinclair, Earl of Rothbury. At first they are constantly at odds and Cassandra objects to his domineering nature until ... a change gradually occurs. As she examines her own feelings, Cassandra questions if their verbal sparring stems from something other than antagonism. Could they actually be attracted to each other? I love it when I can learn while I'm being entertained and The Earl's Lady Geologist achieves both of these goals. Author Alissa Baxter includes the noted 19th century female geologist Mary Anning and the coastal area of Lyme Regis in her plot and I enjoyed learning about Anning's many accomplishments and the fossil digs in that area. The addition of witty dialogue, increasing romantic tension, and mysterious events in a Regency era setting make this the perfect read for those who enjoy historical romance! The Earl's Lady Geologist is my introduction to Baxter's writing and I look forward to reading more of her work. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from Vinspire Publishing and Historical Fiction Virtual Book Tours. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
