  • This is definitely one of the must read books. It's quite amazing looking at Lawrence Anthony's life and his connection with the wild elephants. Makes us realize that there are more to animals than what has been discovered by science so far.

  • The Truth Hurts

Once again this pair of writers come up with a spell- binding tale of derring do, civil war and man's avaricious desire to deplete the planet of the rhinoceros all for their horns. I could hardly put it down. Having read 'The Elephant Whisperer' I knew that this would be a winner. It is sad to think that there will be no more.

  • one of the best reads in a long time about conservation and conservationist. It was easy to read yet not boring. It covered a lifestyle in Africa that is quietly achieving what all wild life animal warriors want to see happen, yet at the same time running a working property. A very fine balance of work, life and conservation.

  • An inspiring,enjoyable read

A well written, sensitive, humorous account of the author's experience in developing a coservation reserve for wildlife in Africa. Full of life, definitely a must read!

  • Non fiction gwm

Loved his descriptions about his experiences with the wildlife particularly the elephants. I wish there was more scientific references so that's why I gave it 4 stars. It was comical, happy and sometimes terribly sad but it was well worth the read. I could hardly put it down.
