The Selection began with thirty-five girls, and now it's down six called "The Elite." America is still on the fence about Maxon. Between Aspen, Maxon and rebel attacks America is as confused as ever. She doesn't know what she wants but gets jealous when she sees Maxon with the other Elite. She also gets angry when one of the Elite gets canned. So when her presentation is due during the Report she lets loose about the caste system. In turn it makes King Clarkson angry and tells her this is the end of line for her. Maxon also gets in trouble for keeping America around. I love these books, but I wish Aspen was out of the picture, she's so un-supportive of America possibly being in love with Maxon and even tells her she's not strong enough to be a princess. I think she's more in love with the familiarity of Aspen than actually still being in love with her. He's so rude to her, and is constantly making little dates with despite knowing they could be out-cast and canned. All in all it's not a bad read, I do still enough it, I just wish Aspen was out of the picture already. But this is a series I can read over and over and not be bored with it.

  • Even Better Than The First

I don't know how this author does it, but she has one heck of a way to grab me and pull me in! Countless times I found myself saying " just one more chapter" or found myself yelling " No America don't do that" .. From the first chapter to the last chapter I was hooked!! Can't get enough of this series and so badly don't want it to end!!! If you have not read it yet .. Go now!!!

  • Not bad but not amazing

The book is enjoyable to read. I felt it was a little short though, but then I guess we will have to wait for the next book. There are a lot of holes that I hope the Author fills in. Really I would give this book a 3.5 out of 5, mainly because America annoyed me in this book. I really liked her in the first book, but in this book she seemed a little over the top and extremely selfish. I do try to keep in mind that she is a 17 year old girl, and in a very stressful situation. But she is just failing miserably in this book. I guess her big come back will be in the next book as it seems to be set up. All in all an entertaining read, if you liked the first one keep going. Though remember that we will need to wait probably a year for the next book in series.

  • INTERESTING

So if youre reading this you most likely got hooked on the selection.I think the first and last book might have been a wee bit better but honestly all of the books are jaw dropping. This book is engulfed in taming Maxons trust and dealing with the rebels. America and Maxon are a bit tense in this book but that makes it a page turner.

  • Better than the First

I enjoyed this book more than the first, as there was more plot and originality. I'm really looking forward to the third book!
