Alice? - Alice, why airbrushed from the Epilogue?

A while since I read book 3, so came at this novel afresh and was disappointed. Not by the story which was gripping enough, but by the number of multiple times I lost the thread of which character was speaking or doing...so I had to go back a page or so each time to reconnect (successfully sometimes). The author's fixation with americanised spelling of this British plot/ environment was SO distracting - several times I was found to be shouting at my e-reader in frustration. Then there's the mistakes...every chapter examples of slapdash font size differences resulting in me squinting at the text to read some minute lines in the darkness of the early hours as I try to tire myself for slumber; then there's Alan - who on earth was Alan? Why don't you proofread before publication? I think it was supposed to be the Garth or was it Jimmy character given a spurious and so random name at this point. I came across this about 3/4s of the way through and was left perplexed for the rest of the night when I should have been blissfully sleeping.

    Scary

I enjoyed the book but sometimes it seemed to go in too many directions at once.
