  • Revenge and love

This story follows on from The Enemy I Don’t Know but it can be read as a stand-alone and Jacob and Brenna play a big part in this story. Mila and Pierce meet in less than ideal circumstances as she is saving Brenna from Mikhail. Mila is searching for her sister who was abducted by Maksim, Mikhail’s son who is even more despicable. Pierce just thinks she is a Russian and therefore up to no good. Mila is terrified but won’t tell Pierce anything. Mila was tortured and when Pierce sees her scars and finds out who did it he is furious and he begins to recognize that he has feelings for her. It is a very slow burn, but so pure and compelling it is hard not to feel protective of Mila and want a happy ending for her. The lengths Pierce and Jacob go to to help Mila are heartwarming given the antagonism between the Italians and Russians, but the Russians have hurt Mila and her sister and must pay.

  • Highly recommended & riveting romance!

Loved reading the exciting and engaging second book in the Brooklyn King series written by the extraordinary and sensational author, L.K. Shaw. When Pierce takes Mila captive, he is determined to find out everything she knows about his enemy, the Russians. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense, mystery, and romance, and a riveting story of two enemies finding themselves unable to resist being pulled together by passion. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

  • Really good read. I love this series!

Such a good read! I have been looking forward to Pierce's story fever since I read the first Brooklyn Kings novel. Pierce was so hard and didn't show anyone mercy, but he started to feel certain things around Mila and that made him feel uncomfortable because he thought that made him weak, also, she was his enemy. Mila wanted to hate Pierce for holding her captive but found herself having trouble with that too. Such a good exciting and interesting read. I love enemies to lovers stories. I do wish that there was a little more drama to the story than just Pierce helping to get Mila's sister back. This book did have me glued to the pages until I was done and I am excited for the next story about Francesca and Giovanni. I definitely recommend this whole series. I received a review copy of this story from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
