  • If you want something, let it go

In this heartwarming romance, I found that Gregory Lattimer is a rare commodity and one that goes to extraordinary lengths for the people he loves. He is locked into duty, desperately recouping the losses caused by his father's obsession with antiques. Meeting Charis Dunnfield, in an attempt to settle outstanding bills, he is dumbfounded by his attraction to her. Charis is an oddity in England, having been schooled in comportment by her Turkish nanny, and becomes an object of lust on the part of the men and one of scorn by the women. As much as Gregory would like to pursue a relationship with Charis, he knows it would be impossible as any union between them would lessen his mother's chances of being reintroduced to society, and because she is adamant about returning to Turkey to continue assisting her father in business. However, despite the impracticability of a future between them, neither Gregory nor Charis can deny the strong feelings that they have for one another, and because he loves her, Gregory finds a way to give Charis what she most needs. This novel brings to mind the adage, “If you ever want something badly, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it's yours forever. If it doesn't, then it was never yours, to begin with”. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

  • Exploring

I enjoyed reading this. Charis is a very strong character with a very interesting and informative lifestyle that she's is also very devoted to. Exploring their family obligations opens up new feelings also worth exploring requiring a boldness and bravery that test their preconceived notions and expectations. Gregory is just a great character, patient, understanding and respectful. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to read and leave a review
