    Thanks for your feedback!

This author is extremely versatile. This book is a bit more intense than what I've been reading of his books (but I haven't read all of his books yet) but it is very good. The story is totally engrossing and I can't wait for the next installment! Mr. Ward's characters are always likable, in fact, you may grow to love them as I did. Chris' characters always want to do the right thing when it comes right down to the wire. This book has many characters with that selfless, or rather self-sacrificing. As for the bad guys, well, you have to read to find out. An interesting use of unique problem-solving techniques thrown in for good measure. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Twisted Horror!

Japanese high school students take a trip to British Heights for a study camp to work on their English speaking skills. Should be just a regular time spent with fellow classmates, right? Wrong! There is something dark there. But out in the woods...there is something lurking...something dangerous and that will try to destroy them all. The Eyes in the Dark is book one in Chris Ward's Tales of Crow series and this book is engaging from beginning to end. I am an avid fan of horror stories and so when I read the blurb for this book I was eager to pick it up. I have to admit that I was hoping for a supernatural horror story, but this book isn't that if that is what you are hoping for. The monsters in this book are "real." The author takes the time to go back in time with certain characters and situations to give us some background on the characters and their situations. These flashbacks aren't clearly marked (as in 7 years ago, etc.) but the author does create breaks in the story so you can notice the change. There are twists and surprises in this book that you honestly don't see coming. I love how the author weaves the story together to create this interesting story. Now while for me, this book isn't scary scary...it will have me more hesitant to visit remote places with extensive forests surrounding them. Haha! You never know what could be out there lurking in the dark. There are some editorial issues with this book which disappoints me, but nothing so extensive that it makes me want to put the book down. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Crow is still out there and I'm eager to find out...where he goes, what he begins again and what happens next. If you enjoy a good story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and that has some gore, sex, and more then get this book. It will be worth the read.
