    Great story!!

I really enjoyed this story, in such a trying time in Scotland, their loyalty to their true king was profound. This story just touches the tragedy of Glencoe , and as shocking as it is to know that something so horrific and cruel happened , this story shows courage, pride and compassion, my idea of what being Scottish really means. A must read series

    Glencoe Massacre

This is a very clever retelling of the Glencoe Massacre. The Campbell clan can never escape the dishonor they enacted on this day. Charlotte is fiction, but the massacre is real history. I would not have thought that this event could be made into a romance novel, but it worked for me.

    Fantastic Highlander Romance

The Fearless Highlander by Amy Jarecki is a fabulous Highlander romance. Ms. Jarecki has gifted readers with a well-written book furnished with a phenomenal cast of characters. Charlotte hates the way her father's men treat the Scottish prisoners and tries to help them when she can. Hugh is one of those prisoners. Hugh and Charlotte's tale is packed with drama, humor, action, spice and suspense. I loved every page of The Fearless Highlander and look forward to reading more from Amy Jarecki in the future. The Fearless Highlander is book 1 in the Highland Defender Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.

Worth pushing through a weak beginning

A mixed review on this one. I barely finished reading the book as the early chapters were so poorly written I seriously considered just putting it away. The internal dialogue, which compromised quite a bit of the story at that point, was just not good. Something made me persevere though and I ended up quite enjoying the story. I thought the characters were well developed. I love it when the story revolves around an interesting piece of history and this story did that.
