Sex, Fire, and Cirque. 5 FLAMING HEARTS

Good girls didn’t eat fire. Good girls didn’t burst into flames. they can’t burn me. My story has no beginning, and hopefully no end. Las Vegas is her stage, and Holly is determined to set the city on fire. HOLLY OCTANE! IT'S RAINEY CASH & BLADE! giggles (Raining cats & dogs.. okay, okay! Lame, I know, but I couldn't resist! wink WOW!! Just... WOW! What a truly FIRENOMENAL story that had me burning from the very start! The twists & turns, the shocks, the heartbreak & heartfelt moments, the ups & downs, every single word of this novel had me gasping, crying, laughing, swooning, cringing, panicking, shaking, bawling, melting, smiling, relieved and... well, essentially living Holly's tale with her, for her when she wouldn't, but mostly, I lived it all as The Fire Dancer herself! It was only a few weeks ago that I read and love, Love, LOVED all 4 books in The Night Songs Collection (which the Cirque Macabre series is a spin-off of), the last of which is Silent Night, a standalone Christmas-ish book that actually gives a lot of insight to some of the others involved in both TNSC & Cirque Macabre series. I thought that would have "prepared" me for this series, but WHOA! Nothing - and I mean NOTHING - could have prepared me for all that is Holly, Rainey, Cash, Blade and everything else that sucked me so deep into this story, changing my opinions about a few of the characters I loved (or hated) from TNSC! Now I truly understand just how Holly feels when she transports herself to another time & place!! How hard it may be to tell fiction from reality! With her unparalleled talent & genuine gift for creating outstanding, unique and exceptional paranormal stories, I have love, Love, LOVED every single one of Kristen's paranormal books, especially her vampire ones, but I have to say that I cannot remember any of them affecting me like The Fire Dancer has! “She understood how to put herbs, spices, and other elements together and make them greater than the sum of their parts.” Now this is a line from the book, but it so applies to Kristen’s writing = She understands how to put romance, spice, sensational story and ALL other elements together and make them greater than the sum of their parts. When I said that I gasped, laughed, cried, etc. as, with & for Holly (& Rainey too!) I REALLY meant it! I even caught myself skimming ahead at the tense or nerve-wracking moments because I was so wrapped up in the story, I was nervous, scared, panicking - literally holding my breath, shaking, basically freaking out just as Holly was - or as she should have been doing! Needless to say, I made myself stop & go back and read every word so I wouldn't miss anything, and tried to remind myself that there was no way that Kristen would take me on this amazing, beautiful, scary, hot, romantic, fantastically immortal ride and not give me hope, love and a happy ending! Of course, this IS only book 1, but I like to think I know Kristen's writing style well enough by now to know that the road might be bumpy, might reach a dead end & make me turn around and go a different way than I wanted or expected, but I will find a happy ending of some kind, after living and experiencing the adventure of a lifetime!! Heaven's on fire! Time to kiss the Fire Dancer! You don’t know what you are, do you? What am I? I think you need me more than I need you. I don’t think that changes anything. It changes everything, Holly.
