A taboo romance sizzling with heat & emotion.

4.5 STARS The Forbidden is taboo romance that sizzles with heat, bleeds raw emotion and then delivers an unexpected dose of heartbreak. You know that feeling when you are experiencing the horror of watching a train wreck unfold in front of you, but you still can't bring yourself to look away? That's Jack and Annie. These two boarded an emotional rollercoaster and decided to forgo their seatbelts while they were at it. They were completely reckless and irresponsible, yet I couldn't help but find myself cheering them on. From their very first encounter, their connection was sparks and fire. Even though they were carrying on an illicit affair, I felt that their relationship was very natural and that they were brought together by fate because it really was meant to be. So, let's discuss the elephant in the room, shall we? Annie and Jack are having an affair. I know there are good deal of people who refuse to read a book about cheating and I completely support you right to pick and choose what you read. I don't mind a book where there is cheating. First, because it's fiction. No real feelings were harmed in the writing of this book. They aren't real people. Second, like it or not it does happen in real life, and art has been known to imitate real life. Finally, I LOVE the angst of the forbidden. It really ratchets up the intensity for me. In this case, the author did an exceptional job of portraying an affair in an honest and realistic manner. Even though Jack and Annie were practically on fire for each other, I didn't feel as if she romanticized the act of cheating itself. On top of that, you really aren't going to be faced with the burden of feeling sorry for Jack's wife because she is straight up bat-shit crazy. The Forbidden is an exceptionally well written story that will engage your heart and your mind while setting your panties on fire.

    **Spoiler alert**

I just couldn't get over the cheating. If you are unhappy in your marriage, get a divorce and then look for someone else.

    Excellent work. A must read

This is an excellent book. I have read everyone of Jodi’s books and the story lines just keep getting better every time. As a married woman, I thought this book would be a hard read, however, it made me look at the world a bit differently. I was raised in an emotionally abusive family. My father was an alcoholic and he was very cruel to my mother. This book should be read by every single person to show, if you keep your heart open, you can find your true soul Mate and move on. This book made my cry. It made my laugh. But most of all, it made me feel happy inside.
