    Lovely Romance!

reviewgreenribbon Miss Eleanor "Nora" Lockhart needs to find a position right away. she didn't realize her father was broke until it was too late. Having made bad investments, he has lost everything and can't even afford to keep his daughter any longer. Nora is forced to figure out her future and very quickly. She needs a position as a governess or a companion. She is worried about returning to London. She left in a haze of scandal years ago after believing a Rake who promised a marriage but only have a kiss. Nora finds the perfect position with a wonderful lady who treats her with the utmost respect. Lady Satterfield is a sweet lady and she lavished all her attention on Nora. Nora can't understand why she has been so lucky. Lady Satterfield just happens to be the stepmother of The Forbidden Duke. They call The Duke of Kendal because he is aloof, alone and prefers it that way. He wasn't always this way, before he inherited, he was a Rake of untold debauchery. He since realized that his ways were not the way things should be and after an innocent was ruined because of him and his friends ways, he cut off all of those habits which he thought he enjoyed. This was a very quick read for me! I started it yesterday. I wanted to devour the story! I stayed up very late last night and finished the book this morning. I dearly loved Nora and especially Lady Satterfield. The bond that grows between the two is just so sweet. Now the things going on between The Duke and Miss Lockhart are another, much warmer, matter! LOL Just great salty goodness! The spark with these two was instant and intense. I loved the writing, the scenery, the everything!! I highly recommend this author! She is one of my favorites, whether it be Regency or contemporary romance Darcy Burks has a way of pulling you into a story so that you feel like you are on the porifory watching it unfold. Lovely love story!! *I received an ARC from NewGalley in exchange for my honest review *

    A wonderful 5 Star Read

The Forbidden Duke by Darcy Burke is such a breathtaking read, filled with vivid history, passion, loss and yes, romance. Lots of romance. A wonderful 5 star read that will make a great addition to anyone’s library. We start off by seeing spinster, Eleanor Lockhart meeting with her father and being informed that he’s lost it all. He has nothing left to provide her with and she must find new accommodations. Eleanor at first is at a loss of what to do, she been banished by family and many friends due to an incident that occurred several years prior. She was caught in a passionate kiss with a rake which ruined her name and life in society. The only thing she could do is become a ladies companion. She’s soon hired by Lady Satterfield, who immediately falls in love with the young woman. Here, Eleanor meets the dashing, yet dark and mysterious Forbidden Duke or so his nickname goes. Titus St. John, Duke of Kendal who just happens to be Lady Satterfield’s step-son and the one who is responsible for Eleanor’s fall from grace some years prior, no, he’s not the man in question. However, it was he who influenced his friends to go about acting rakish and ruining innocent misses. Titus soon finds himself smitten with the lovely Miss Eleanor and he soon finds himself drawn to helping her and she too begins to fall for the dark and mysterious duke. Can Titus help Miss Eleanor regain her rightful name in society? Will he express his love and finally settle down and wed the lovely miss? This is my first book of Darcy Burke’s and I must say I am now a huge fan. Her writing style is impeccable and she weaves such a deep and vivid tale that just captures the reader and draws them back in time to the elegant ballrooms, the afternoon teas of the ton and of course into the passionate lives of the characters. Her characters spring to life on the pages and one can’t help but fall in love. This is a wonderful read and I can’t wait see what to come next in this amazing series of The Untouchables. **I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review**

    Love this Fairytale!!!

The Forbidden Duke by Darcy Burke was a very enjoyable story, like reading a fairytale. I am new to historical romance, but Darcy Burke has sold me on this genre. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. The love story unfolding between Nora and Titus was so sweet to watch, they are perfect together. This story is about coming to a lady's rescue, forgiveness and love. Please do yourself a favor and read this book, you will be happy you did. I adored this book.

I am usually on the fence about Ms. Burke's historical romances. Either I really like or have a tepid response to them. The Forbidden Duke is one I adored. Titus has committed acts in his past that he is not proud of. Wanting to be a better person he sets out to right the wrongs he caused, starting with Eleanor. Eleanor has lived with the fallout from an event that she tries to forget but society keeps punishing her for. The Forbidden Duke is a lesson in redemption, forgiveness and trust. People find it so easy to judge others but take offense when on the receiving end. I received an ARC of The Forbidden Duke in exchange for an honest review. An inspiring message in a heart warming package.
