    Action packed Thriller!

The Fourteenth Protocol refers to an Executive Order that the President created after the attack on 9/11. The story starts out a little slow, you don't meet Jana (our heroine) until about a quarter of the way into the book. Instead you start out meeting Cade, who works at an office building. He's a server administrator. In other words, he makes sure that the computer servers he's in charge over don't go down as they send out massive amount of emails. There is one floor above him that is secret. One day he is called up to the 17th floor (the secret floor) and witnesses several strange things. Before he knows it, he's assigned to the seventeenth floor. As he starts wondering who the suit guys are that are always hanging around on the floor, Jana gets a huge break while following and monitoring a suspected terrorist. It's at this point, that the story ramps up in action, suspense and terror. I enjoyed the book. I liked the 3 lead characters. I especially appreciated Jana. Not only was she smart, she could take care of herself. And for once, she actually saved a him! lol While this book is fictional, the story itself is very scary, in that, it could really happen. For those who like action, thrillers and mysteries, this book is for you!

A Great Plot with Likeable Characters

This book really resonated with me. The story was very unusual and imaginative, but realistic. The characters were well developed and quite likeable. The writing was so good I quickly developed a bond with the characters and had emotional reactions to their experiences. This is the most engrossing and exciting book I have read recently, and I ascribe my feelings to the excellent style of writing. To me the book was as much about Cade Williams as Jana Baker, so I hope he will appear in number 2, along with Cool Mac.

Good read, will look for this author again.

First a caveat....I am an avid reader and enthusiast of Lee Child, (early) Tom Clancy, Dale Brown, etc. and have spent 30 years of government service in military and civilian Law Enforcement and Anti/Counter-Terrorism. Having qualified my opinions I will say In enjoyed the book. I read for entertainment, distraction, escape form work/life/stuff and to pass the time while travelling. This book provided the necessary and successful elements of enough development, adequate technical accuracy, and plot development to hold my interest. No, I did not stay up all night to finish it on the first night. I did however, look forward to reading it some over the three nights it took to finish. I think the author is tracking well to success, and I will look for more of his work.
