    Another delightful clean read

What a great sweet, clean read with wonderful characters. This is a case of knowing what you want and going after it or is it knowing what you want isn’t what you want at all? Lady Rose has waited so long to find a husband but none are coming. With her younger sister getting married she feels her time is about up to make a good match. Her mother said let’s go to court off they go hunting a husband. Lady Rose knows just the kind of man she wants but finds all at court rather boring. There is one who has caught her eye but his kiss leave a lot to be desired. She must start acting on the dumb side no man wants a women smart then they are. With her plan worked out she is off to get her man that is until Kit shows up and decides he wants her for his own. He knows what she is like and falls hard for her. He has his hands full trying to show her they are meant to be together. Kit is wealthy and has a promising career as Lady Rose gets to know him she likes everything about him if he only had a title. Lady Rose’s parents have told the girls they can marry who they want. Have you ever seen a mother that can keep her nose out of her children’s business? OK there might be a few but in this case NO she is hot on the trail of Kit giving her approval saying they make the perfect match along with this advice make her fall in love with you. In prier books Lady Rose comes across as spoiled and selfish here she comes alive and blooms into a delightful young women as she finds not only herself but the man she truly loves. With all the scandals at court I didn’t see what Lady Rose did as being over the top. Heck the King throws lip locks around no matter who is watching. I really felt sorry for his wife. I just loved Kit he is such a strong caring man who knows how to treat a lady. These authors give you a sweet read that pulls you in with intrigue, passion, a wonderful plot and delightful characters. I love the buildup of the romance. You will find a story inside a story here giving the plot more meaning. I have no trouble believing the story with the true facts the authors give us. They have really done their research giving you characters you have to trouble relating to. King Charles is something else as he makes his rounds at court just as he did way back when. I found the realistic of this story a delight and learned a few things I did not know about court. This is such a fun clean read that mothers and daughters can read together, talk about and hopefully bring them close together as family and friends.

    Blooming Love!

Another home-run for mother and daughter writing duo, Lauren and Devon Royal! I've read all the Chase bride books, as well as their steamy counterparts and I have to say that The Gentleman's Scandalous Bride is by far my favorite. Lady Rose Ashcroft has been a thorn up to this point in the series She's a spoiled and selfish girl with unrealistic expectations of her future, specifically husband hunting. She wants a titled man and will settle for nothing less. Kit Martyn is a wealthy gentleman with a promising career in architecture, but alas no title. Will Rose follow her heart and marry for love, or will she follow her head and marry to climb the social ladder? Just as I was about to give up on Rose, she develops so much through the series. She blossoms (pun intended) into a heroine you can root for. You want her to discover the right man has been there under her nose the whole time. You want them to get the happily ever after!

I liked the historical details and it felt like it rounded off the series well. The story was interesting and kept me reading. Overall good book and series.
