    The German Girl

A moving story of the fate of more than 900 people trapped on a ship escaping from Nazi Germany. This book focuses on the fate of one family allowed to land in Cuba and on their descendants who decide to visit the one remaining family member in Havana. A fascinating insight into a shameful period of history and one not that well known. Good story line and characters. The move between now and then is a little confusing but not enough to spoil an interesting story. It is not a happy read.
