    An Intense Read

After Jenna receives a heart transplant she starts to have flashback memories but they aren't hers. She begins to believe her donor was murdered and decides she owes her enough to investigate what really happened. A fast paced page turner that leaves you reading well into the night. Full of twist and turns .

    Wow!

I literally could not put this book down except for one brief dinner break. The pace keeps you gully engaged throughout the whole story and I occasionally found myself cursing aloud at the end of some chapters, and of course compelled to read on. It has been quite a while since I have enjoyed a book to this extent!

    The gift

I had a hard time following this book. Really slow. Found spelling errors as well lol. I read half, gave it fair chance.

    Read "the Sister"

After reading and loving this author's debut, "The Sister", I was thrilled to have the chance to read her new release, "the gift". I received this book as an ARC free from net galley in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately though, I didn't love it nearly as much as "the sister" and must say I was disappointed. While it was still a pretty good read, I didn't "love" it like some other psychological thrillers I have read of late. The plot for the most part fascinated me. Jenna just had a heart transplant but finds herself having disturbing visions, dreams and nightmares. She looks into cellular memory and is convinced that the things she knows and feels are from the person who was her heart donor and something is terribly wrong. Is she experiencing and sharing Callie's memories? What is Callie trying to tell her? Is there more to her death? No one will listen to her. No one believes what she is saying. Everyone is telling her to leave it alone and that she needs to "see someone". But Jenna can't leave it alone. While I loved that plot, some of the story just didn't seem realistic to me including some of the lengths Jenna went to. I thought the story dragged a little and that it became a bit repetitive. Often when I read this genre of books, I can barely turn the pages fast enough and can't wait from chapter to chapter. This one didn't do that for me. I had difficult time relating to Jenna and I didn't find her very likeable. To me she seemed immature and selfish and just did not make good choices. And while we don't have to love the character to love the book, I think it did have an impact. While I didn't suspect where things ended up, that just seemed to come out of the blue without any clues or leading up. I really wanted to like it more than I did. I am a big believer in the importance of organ donation and the idea that the person receiving the organ can share feelings or inherit traits from the donor is a remarkable thing. However as much as that fascinates me, for me, it fell short. Thanks again to the publisher and net galley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

    The Gift

Loved this. Such a good story. Very well written. Lovely twist near the end. Gripped me from the start.
