    A compelling read

Ronald Balson’s "The Girl from Berlin" is the fifth book in a series featuring lawyer Catherine Lockhart and private investigator Liam Taggert, a married couple from Chicago. In this latest novel they travel to Italy to help Gabrielle, the aunt of a friend whose property is in jeopardy. Their investigation leads them to the mystery of Ada Baumgarten, the daughter of a well known violinist in pre-World War II Germany, and an accomplished violinist herself. By reading Ada’s memoirs they unravel the mystery and discover a story of Nazi evil and corruption. An excellent read!
