Don't judge a person by the stories you hear

Summary: A baby is left once a year in the forest just outside of a town called Protectorate. The townspeople were made to believe that the sacrifice of a baby will keep the evil witch at bay. Xan, is the witch but evil she is not. She rescues the babies left and takes them to loving families on the other side of the forest. When one particular baby is abandoned Xan by mistake feeds it moonlight instead of starlight and realizes that she must claim the baby as hers and raise her. The baby will grow and become extremely powerful and possibly dangerous. Will Xan be able to raise such a powerful baby? Can Xan friends Glerk (a friendly swamp monster) and Fyrian (a tiny dragon) help out with Luna ( the baby Xan claimed). Characters: Xan, witch, that helps abandoned babies fine loving families. Grandma to Luna. Luna, baby that was fed moonlight and might become dangerously powerful if not taught how to control her magic. Glerk, a swamp monster who loves everyone close to him but does not openly admit it. Fyrian, tiny enormous dragon. That sees the good in everything and everyone. Antain, he was supposed to become an Elder but after his first baby abandoning, he might just need to find another career. Quote: Sorrow is dangerous Final Thoughts: I fell in love with the cover, and just had to read this book. I m glad I did, loved the story. The character of Xan was my favorite her heart was so big and overflowing with the need to help people. Not all witches are evil. Some stories are based on lies, question things when curiosity gets the better of you.

    Lovely!

I wish I had an eleven-year-old in my life that I could read this aloud with! A beautifully-drawn fantasy with a message of love and hope in dark times.
