The Girl Who Knew Too Much

Fast moving, fun read. Lots of twists and turns...a bit of a surprising ending. Otherwise, interesting characters, a reminder of the old Hollywood.

    Doesn't disappoint

I generally prefer historical stories to be a bit further back in history but this one brought the early Hollywood era to life and was very enjoyable.

    Fun and intreguing read

I really enjoyed this book. It costs Ned many twists and turns that kept me reading so I could peak around the corner to see what was happening next ....smart writing! Cheers

    Perfection!!!

The Golden Age of Hollywood reveals its tarnished side in this engrossing story! From the first pages, this author’s unique mix of humor, suspense, romance and understatement transports you from a country manor in New York State across the country to Burning Cove, California, where Hollywood’s elite go to the exclusive resort there to be seen, or hide out. Reporter Irene Glasson is sure she is onto a big story, but when her “source” winds up dead before she can dish, Irene is now positive her story is even bigger than suspected. But the challenge for her is to continue to pull at the threads of the story without unraveling her life! Once again, Ms. Quick (OK, we all know it’s Krentz/Castle) fills her historical romantic suspense story with intriguing characters and dialogue. You cannot help but admire the cool-headed, ever-resourceful Irene, whose job it is to uncover secrets yet her life mission is to keep hers hidden! And the enigmatic Oliver Ward is the perfect hero for her - who would have ever thought a once famous magician turned maimed resort owner could be such a hero! Oliver is one bona-fide alpha hottie! Sprinkled throughout the pages are the quintessential Quick humor and “cadence” - her writing just has a certain pacing and rhythm that I find endearing. And in sync with the time period, a certain “film noir” vibe saturates the story. I thought I would miss the Victorian Era where this author’s books are usually set, but I found myself totally engrossed in the more “modern” times! I cannot wait for the next book
