    Great story

I very much enjoyed reading this book. I loved the characters- especially Pip- and the plot was great with just enough mystery to keep me reading. I wouldn't actually call this a mystery though, more of a story with a little mystery thrown in. The story focuses on a group of people who all live in a place where the park, or garden, is the main social hub. It is mostly about the kids who live and play there but there are adult perspectives. I liked Adele and her parenting style. There is a lot of gossip, teenage angst, parenting troubles, etc. All in all, a great story. I will be looking for more books from this author.

    The girls in the garden

First book I've read by Lisa Jewell, really enjoyed It! The plot was well formed and the characters relateable. Excited to find a new ( to me) author, look forward to more great stories.

    The Girls in the Garden

This book has more twists and curves than the switchbacks on a mountain road! I was completely immersed in the story while harboring suspicion toward at least 6 or 7 characters. Brenda, Norma, and I assigned ourselves reading goals and then would email as a group to discuss our impressions. We all pretty much suspected everyone – I even suspected a totally innocent bystander! I found the ending to be very satisfying and, if not completely happy, it left me feeling hopeful that everyone in the book had learned valuable lessons from the events that took place, and that they would ultimately allow those lessons to govern their futures. Altogether, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read – and a very clever, well-written book! I recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense stories that are so real they could be happening in your own neighbourhood park!

    Very good!

Kept me wanting to get to the end! A couple of things that I would have wanted finished up a little bit more. First time reading this author so, definitely, will be reading other novels written by her.
