    The Good Earth Trilogy

Wonderful reading. Still educational and thought-provoking after all these years. I'm very pleased to have rediscovered Pearl Buck.

I had a hard time putting the books down.

I enjoyed reading about how the Chinese lived in the olden times and how things radically changed in one to two generations. The English was a little hard to get used to, but once that was mastered it was easy reading. Interesting times and interesting characters.

    Impressive!

I couldn't put it down. I could taste and feel the culture and language of her characters in the unique and artful style. This seems to me to be the closest way to understand chinese history and culture without actually speaking a word of chinese. what a wonderful study of the character and ebolution of the Chinese culture. I' a better and more whole person fohabing devoured this trilogy. sorry fot typos. the kobo keyboard wont allow me to pinpoint corrections and requires one to bck space all the way back to the mistake and its eady to lose the thought.
