    Amazing Holiday Read

Alex and Rafe are possibly my favorite Felice Stevens' couple so when I heard they were going to be starring in their own Christmas story I was beyond stoked. Let's just say I was not disappointed. I have not had any intimate experience with cancer but I have spent a few Christmases sitting by my mother's hospital bed so just after reading the blurb I knew a few tears would fall, and fall they did. I can't really think of more to say that wouldn't leak spoilers so I'll just say this is a beautiful story that needs reading because not only is it a great tale but you just might walk away learning a little something about yourself too.

    The Greatest Gift

We rejoin Alex and Rafe three years down the line. Alex is doing his residency at the hospital, whilst Rafe's veterinary practice has only grown in strength. However, although their relationship is as strong as ever, they are about to reach a fork in the road - Rafe is ready to grow their family but Alex is not. He both afraid of how his work hours will affect his family life, as well as being worried that he will turn out like his father. Whilst this is going on, Alex meets a new patient in the hospital, Jude, and the story takes a turn. Now, after reading the synopsis and the introduction to Jude, it was pretty clear which way this story was going to go. That being said, the story still managed to reach in and take hold of my heart, leaving my crying into my tissues. I was invested in these characters, including the new ones that I had only just met. This is not easy, especially within a novella, but Felice Stevens has managed it completely with this story. There is so much packed into this story, I have only scratched the surface, but none of it seems rushed in any way. Well-paced and with smooth timing, this was a delight. This is a heart-warming and emotional seasonal story that will give you that warm holiday glow, along with a Rudolph nose caused by the tears that you will most likely spill. Highly recommended. * I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
