Synopsis

Sign: Capricorn

He loves power, material success...and sex.

Erica Silver has never done things the "usual" way. A single mom working towards a degree in psychology, she's paying her way as an exotic dancer. No one can tell Erica how to live her life...especially not some handsome, arrogant Greek stranger, who wants to take her son away from his "unfit" mother.

Successful entrepreneur Tito Makris has no choice but to fulfill his best friend's last wish. He must bring his friend's son to Greece to claim a multi-billion euro legacy. Still, taking the boy from his mother-however tarnished she may be-is pretty much the last thing Tito wants. So he offers Erica a radical choice: marry him and stay with her son...or lose the boy-and him-forever.

    Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this one! It's a very well done marriage of convenience story with great characters and pace that has you reading page after page. Tito Makris is stuck between doing what he thinks is right and fulfilling a promise made to his now deceased best friend. Now to convince Erica Silver, the mother of his best friends son, that marrying him and coming with him to Crete is the best thing to do. He doesn't want to go through the courts to take the boy away from his mother, so this seems like the best thing to do. Erica may not share his opinion though! The one thing that does convince her though is the safety of her son. If the people who killed his father try to go after her son she will be defenseless, so she agrees to Tito's plan. She's not sure if she's made a deal with the devil or made the best decision of her life! This is a fun read and I highly recommend it.

A sweet story of love being the winner

Erica Silver, a single mom struggling to make ends meet while providing for her 12 month old baby and earning a degree in Psychology, suddenly finds herself face to face with Tito Makris, a Greek tycoon on a mission to find the last male heir of the Frangos family. A promise he made to his late best friend Yannis Frangos has him investigating Erica and her unsavory means of making a living. He suggests a proposal that will help both Erica and her son Nick have a better future but the price is too high. A marriage of convenience is something that neither of them planned but it is the only way for Erica to be with her child as he is brought up in the traditional Greek ways of his late father's family. And a means to an end for Tito who's mother is adamant about setting him up with a typical Greek society wife. As expected complications arise as well as feelings that neither of them expected. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

    Good story line!

Tito Makris is a stuffy man. He's not happy and everything he does is out of duty. He barely shows any emotion until the last couple chapters of this book. Erica silvers emotions are out of control. One minute she's hysterical, the next she's calm and rational and after another she's flying off the handle again. One minute she's suspicious of Tito and the next she's trying to seduce him. Emotions in this book are all over the place and hard to keep track of. I didn't like the way the Frango's women treated, spoke to and spoke about Erica and she had almost no reaction. Just because she was a stripper didn't mean she was a slut or whore and they called her that many times. I really wanted to like this story because the story line is a good one but the writing was lacking something. I've read another book by this author and it was a fantastic 5-Star read but this one just wasn't working for me. Received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.

Turned out better than it began.

Erica is a "fierce" mama lion. Whatever it takes to protect her son and make him happy is her top priority. The means she had to go to in order to make that possible made me sad. She was determined to succeed on her own. Tito irked me. He was so dictatorial. His way was the best way. I would have rebelled too. In the beginning the story was a little dull but as it went on it got better. Erica's fighting spirit, Tito's arrogant attitude and promise to a friend combined to make The Greek Tycoon's Tarnished Bride by Rachel Lyndhurst into a story that turned out better than it began. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
