  • Homecoming in Sugarland

This was a slightly different book to others I have read in this series because it's pretty much a who done it kind of mystery. Yes we have ghosts for Verity to hunt down and question but this wasn't quite as tangled up in the paranormal side as I'm used to from this author. What always works is the odd relationship that Verity has with her resident ghost Frankie because he's as cantankerous as ever but Frankie isn't exactly telling the truth to either Verity or his sweetheart Molly ! I've previously been a little disappointed by Veritys boyfriend Ellis but this time they seemed much more in tune and their romance felt much more realistic. However relationships are tricky things and here we get quite a lot of Veritys usually absent mother and my goodness did I want to give that woman a slap ! I thought she was the most selfish, unfeeling parent that I have read about in a long time. Honestly her portrayal as a character everyone loved just didn't jibe with the way she behaved. If blunt I really wish she hadn't been included in this story although I can see why she was as its (slight spoiler) her friend who was murdered. The bottom line is I liked following the mystery and the red herrings scattered throughout. Relationships are changing in Veritys world whether she likes it or not which was a nice side plot. The mystery gets solved but as this ends there are very clearly ideas in the authors head for the next book and I very much look forward to reading more about the inhabitants of Sugarland. This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

  • Easy Read. Cliff Hanger Ending

Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery Book 10 Great book, easy read with vivid descriptions. Really made me feel like I was in a small Southern Town. This book finishes on a cliff hanger & feels like a TV episode. I’m itching to find out what happens next.

  • Angie Fox’s Haunted Homecoming is another WINNER!

Verity’s mom has come to visit and attend the Sugarland High School Homecoming. She’s blabbing to anyone in Sugarland, Tennessee who’ll listen everything about Verity, (all) Verity’s ghost hunting secrets and ghostly friends. That becomes dangerous when Verity and her ghostly gangster partner, Frankie, try to solve a years-old murder mystery. It’s all centered around the Sugarland High School Homecoming. Angie Fox’s Sugarland books tell the ongoing story of Verity, Ellis (her cop boyfriend), Lucy (her sweet pet skunk), Frankie the 1930’s gangster ghost, and many other interesting Sugarland characters. The stories are packed with interesting sidelines and characters and are different each time, so you don’t feel like they’re part of a “recipe”. The endings can’t be predicted, and the twists and turns keep you reading until the end.

  • Love this series

This is the 10th in the Southern Ghost Hunter series and I’ve absolutely loved every single one. This time Verity's mother is in town for the big Homecoming celebration and wants to help her ghost hunt and solve a murder. Along with dealing with her mother, Homecoming and a murder, Verity also has to help Frankie with his lovelife. All in all it was another great visit to Sugarland.

  • Fun additon to the series

Another fun edition to the Southern Ghost Hunters series! When a body is found during homecoming, Verity begins to investigate with the aid of her resident ghost, Frankie. Along with Frankie, Verity's mother gets into the middle of things, telling the entire town everything Verity is doing. Between all the characters and their craziness, this is an entertaining book that made me smile. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. It's an engaging story that is perfect for an afternoon's escape. While this is a stand alone novel, you will enjoy it so much more if you've read the prior books in the series. I'm already looking forward to the next one. The author is on my must read authors' list.
