A glimpse of the swamp in the 50's

I enjoyed this more as a glimpse into politics in the 1950's, through the eyes of Charlie Marder.

    The Hellfire Club

A great time in history. Jake Tapper has some great insights in this time in history. Fun to read, but hard to put down. Jake is able to make this period in history come alive and keeps you guessing with twists and turns. Good read.....enjoy

Not an interesting period of history

I think the deep involvement with a historical period of American politics may make this far more interesting to an American reader than it was to this Canadian. There was an odd “National Treasures” scene near the end that didn’t fit, and the dialogue throughout was almost as stilted as a Tom Clancy book. I prefer Jake Tapper as a newsman on CNN.

It was a good read, but not a great read

It was an interesting book. Some of the actions of some of the characters were far fetched.
