  • Loved!

Loved it. An excellent and infinitely more entertaining (and also more believable!) telling of the events in The Prisoner of Zenda. If you haven't read the original work yet, I strongly suggest you do so before starting this one.

  • What a joy!

This was such a fun book. I received an ARC from the author so it’s been a month since I read it and I am already considering putting it on my re-read list. I wasn’t keen on the writing in the original Zenda book by Anthony Hope. His use of sentence structure was so confusing (to me - maybe I don’t read enough Victorian pulp) but KJ Charles managed to sound similar to the original while also refreshing the language enough for a modern reader to enjoy. I absolutely recommend this to all who enjoy Victorian pulp, m/m romance , fencing and swashbuckling, complicated plots with ever changing alliegences.

  • Great fun

I've never read Prisoner of Zelda so I didn't know what would happen -- stayed up late to find out! Full of adventure, humour and great characters. Extremely satisfying read. Will be seeking out more by this author.

  • Fun read!

I never read the Prisoner of Zenda so I had absolutely no idea about how the story would unfold. That was also why I put off reading this story for such a long time. Ha! Once I started I couldn’t put it down. What a fun story. This makes me wish that this is an adventure series with our 2 swordsmen wreaking havoc on unsuspecting plots everywhere instead of just one book.

    Thanks for your feedback!
