    Another awesome paranormal adventure...

Each story in this series has, so far, been a literary treat featuring three wonderful, unique, extremely likeable women who are best friends working as a team of paranormal investigators specializing in exposing and, if possible, rectifying past injustices which tether disgruntled spirits to this mortal plane. Along the way, they have been very successful in renovating haunted buildings and transforming them into lucrative real estate holdings which benefit the communities in which they are found all while helping the unfortunate spirits move on. In this book our three intrepid ladies, Ellen, Sue, and Tanya, travel to Portland at the request of a wealthy businessman whose brother has gone missing. The police have not been able to shed any light on the case and, in desperation, the businessman hires the ladies to utilize their special investigative talents to uncover what happened to his brother and, if possible, rescue him. The story moves along at a brisk pace as the ladies follow various clues to try and find their client’s brother. As usual for one of Ms. Pohler’s stories, fact and fiction are masterfully blended together to produce an engaging mystery that is sure to keep the reader’s attention to the very last sentence. The Shanghai tunnels of Portland are woven into the plot of this captivating story lending a credible authenticity to the human trafficking suspicions our ladies must explore to solve their case. I highly recommend this entire series. For those who prefer the audiobook format, I cannot say enough good things about the outstanding performance of the narrator, Debbie Andreen. She has a pleasant voice that is very easy to listen to, she utilizes appropriate pace and tone, and she gives each character a distinctive voice. I was given an audio copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review. If you find this review helpful, I thank you for so indicating.
