    Leaves you hanging

This is a much better read than the Swarm; the pace is better, the characters from the Hive are known and followed more easily; the changes of scene are nicely done and the war is evolving fairly logically. The deficits? Still absolutely no exposition of the Hive mind or the persona of the Formics -and it wouldn't have to be from the creaky Intel of the Space Force or the Hegemon. How about from the Hive Queen herself? The absolutely rotten to the core management and leadership cadres finally bring humanity from hand-wringing to more direct measures. But it's galling to rarely run into a competent officer and it gets tedious.

    Good book

I have read all the formic wars books. I liked this one not so much. The others were great where this one is good. I felt the book picked up at the very end. Cant wait for the next one though.
