  • Another fun episode...

This is the fifth book in the series and picks up right after book four. In this installment our unlikely (yet somehow perfectly matched) protagonists, Mel and Luce, take a much-needed holiday for some hard-earned rest and relaxation. I enjoyed this story for a few reasons. First, it was a nice change of pace from the unrelenting chain of catastrophe, chaos, and crises Mel and Luce have dealt with in the previous books. While the previous stories have all been delightful, this one gave Mel, Luce, and the reader a chance to take a bit of a breather. Secondly, I liked that this story gave more insight to Luce. It was our chance to get in his head and experience his roller coaster of emotions and his difficulties in coping with his redemption and with becoming an angel once again. Lastly, this story gave us some wonderful glimpses of Mel’s life as an incredibly powerful angel. Her extraordinarily long life has afforded her some truly spectacular experiences with regard to people she has known as well as the history she has witnessed. There was so much to enjoy in this story that I didn’t mind the slower pace one bit. It was refreshing, entertaining, and captivating. Looking forward to more of this series. I received a copy of this book from the author and the above is my voluntary and unbiased review.

    Thanks for your feedback!
