    The Holiday Gift

There's nothing better than your dearest oldest friend, they are always there for you. But if that person also happens to love you, is the possible chance of romantic relationship worth to risk the friendship? Faith didn't think so when it came to Chase. I found this story somber, and more than that, the romance left me wanting, for me it felt incomplete as it was, even with the epilogue. And that made me little sad because I had set such a high hopes for this Christmas novel. The friendship between Faith and Chase had been tested through fire over the years. That was solid, unwavering, something you could always count on. And the way Faith acted, Chase was a saint. So understanding, kind, giving, generous, patient, tolerant, you name it. And I understand the fear Faith was facing, considering all the loss in her life, the possibility of loving again was terrifying to her. What I really didn't like in the story was the matchmaking Faith was doing. Boldly pushing Chase to another woman, again and again even after his feelings towards Faith were clear. The was so disrespectful and rude, I couldn't get over it. Thankfully for Faith, Chase is a better person than I am. There's children, puppies, horses, and Christmas cheer. All the trimmings to a wonderful celebration. But the story mostly focuses on the inner battle Faith is having about not wanting to love again or change anything on the relationship she has with Chase, thus, there's no development of the relationship in the tale, but lots of woman's melancholy battle of moving on with life after series of devastating losses in her life. So along these lines, it does give a different kind of Christmas story, more fitting to the women's lit than romance genre. But the children are cheerful, there's good will towards the neighbors, there are puppies born, Christmas wishes comes true, and lots of good eating around the family table, while pondering about life and the future and change and possibly even romance... ~ Three Spoons

    Capivating Holiday Read

Such a sweet, heartwarming holiday book! I was sad when it was over! I definitely wanted it to continue! We have previously met the other Nichols' sisters but this book is about Faith. She has been in other books but this is her story. You don't have to read the other books but you will have a little background about her if you have read previous books. She has been a widow for a couple years, trying to raise her young children and run a ranch that her husband wasn't very good at! However, her sisters and other family members have helped her out a lot and she's beginning to settle in where she feels that her "head is above water" now. One of the big reasons is that her neighbor and childhood friend, Chase, has been there every step of the way. He's helped her learn how to make the ranch successful again and so many other things. She doesn't know what she would do without his help ever since her husband died. BUT, Chase, wants to take their friendship to the next level.....he's felt "more than friendship" ever since they were teenagers.....and Faith doesn't know what to do about that. I love stories about best friends turning into more! Relationships that begin as friends are fantastic! This author does such a great job at showing how that "give and take" happens. It's an up and down process. It's not easy but it's sure worth it! Chase also has a daughter from his previous marriage and I loved her spunkiness! All the characters in this book are fantastic. It's a great holiday read that helps us remember what the holidays are all about.

    Cute Second Chance Romance

The Holiday Gift was a sweet second chance, friends to lovers style romance. There wasn't anything overly dramatic or exciting, it was just a really solid and down to earth story. Faith is determined to prove that she can make it on her own after her husband's death a couple years ago. She's raising her kids and running the ranch, and things seem to be perfect. Then, her best friend has to go and ruin everything by asking her out on a date. Like a real date. She's not sure if she's ready for that, and she's definitely not ready to risk her friendship with Chase if things don't work out. But Chase has other ideas, he doesn't want to miss this second chance to be with the girl he's loved since they were young. A fun and beautiful romance. I loved the connection that Chase and Faith had already built through the years and the community that surrounded them. I just had a hard time finding something that stood out and make this one something special. **I voluntarily read a review copy of this book**

I love every word of this book

I love friends to lovers stories and I also love Christmas stories. The Holiday Gift combines both of my favorites and I loved every word of it. Ms Thayne speaks to her readers in ways you can't imagine and her story just touches my heart in so many ways. Although Faith is a tad annoying when she tries to push Chase away and even tries to matchmake him with someone else, it is hard not to feel her pain and her fear. I am really glad that Chase was patient enough and I just love how he brought back Christmas to her life. You can never go wrong with a RaeAnne Thayne book and The Holiday Gift is no exception. Can't wait to read more of her books.
