    One word: "Downtown"

I admit I have a weakness for Lauren Blakely’s men, and it’s beginning to sound redundant that I keep saying, “this one was my favorite.” But Tyler Nichols…Oh. My. God. The title is definitely apropos; this man is over the top HOT in oh, so many ways. There’s just something about a second chance romance. This isn’t the first time Lauren has wowed me with a one-that-got-away story, but The Hot One is beyond sweet, it’s even beyond sexy. (Yes. I said beyond). Tyler and Delaney’s story struck a chord with me. Tyler hooked me from the very beginning with his warmth and wit. So if I fell hook, line, and sinker, then it’s no wonder Delaney didn’t stand a chance. The chemistry between Tyler and Delaney is off the charts hot. I loved the characters’ playful banter, and the way they teased and seduced each other. Even more than that, beyond the sex and dirty talk (and yes, there’s plenty of that), the characters have a mature and touching backstory, and I love that Lauren Blakely took her readers there. From Tyler’s honesty about their breakup, to his resolve to win back the woman he let get away, from Delaney’s fear of commitment and even her abandonment issues, the characters’ emotional journey elevated this story to something higher than just a second chance romance. And, can I just say, every girl should have best friends like Penny and Nicole. Friends who aren’t afraid to talk straight, but who also know when it’s time to just stand aside and offer support, knowing they may need to be that soft place to fall, or that they might have to give their friend a little kick in the butt. The Hot One is a read-in-one-sitting kind of story. I couldn’t put it down. Grab a cup of tea and some sustenance, because once you start, you won’t want to stop! Five (plus) HOT stars!

    He's a hot one, alright!

Tyler Nichols and Delaney Stewart attended law school together, and they were wildly in love, until Tyler unceremoniously dumped Delaney, professing he wanted to focus on his studies. Then they meet again by accident eight years later, and Tyler is determined to fix his mistake: he always loved Delaney, and he will get her back, no matter what he has to do. However, Delaney is reluctant; even though the attraction is definitely still there, he did hurt her badly. Can she forgive Tyler and give their love a go, the second time around? Tyler did act very selfishly, and personally, attraction or no, I don’t know if I would have forgiven him, in spite of his crazy antics to win back Delaney; he’s a tad too cocky to my taste. I also kept wondering how much he really loved Delaney, because it seems he hadn’t given her a thought before he ran into her; maybe it’s just plain stubbornness on my part. I must say, Trevor, a guy Delaney dated, looked really good to me. I loved the wonderful friendship between Delaney, Penny and Nicole, as well as the terrific banter, so natural and real. The chemistry between Delaney and Tyler is crazy hot, which led to amazingly sensuous and erotic sex scenes. I always marvel at Lauren Blakely’s writing: her prose can be at the same time so very poetic and refined, and very modern and casual, and always very witty. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

    Perfect Second Chance Story

The Hot One by Lauren Blakely (Audio Edition) Narrated by Andi Arndt & Zachary Webber 4.5 Stars - This was the perfect second chance story. Sweet, funny and sexy. I loved how Tyler, went all-in to win back Delaney, and I loved how she couldn't resist him. It was easy to listen to this story all in one go, as the narrators did a wonderful job! It was exactly what I was looking for!

Hooray!! Another Nichols to fall for!!!

4.5 Stars Hooray!! Another Nichols to fall for!!! It is no secret that I am a proud member of the Nichols fan club (Clay Nichols…*sigh… you are my love). So I was super excited to have another hero to swoon over. I’m happy to report that Tyler Nichols easily measures up to his title. He is every bit the hot one. EVERY Lauren Blakely is a delight to read. The Hot One is no different. This second chance romance is fun, sweet, and it’s a Lauren Blakely book so you know it’s HOT! It’s been eight years since Tyler Nichols has seen Delaney Stewart. Eight years since he broke it off with her and ruined their plans. After their chance meeting in the park, he decides to do whatever it takes to get Delaney back. Except, Delaney doesn’t want to be hurt by him again and is reluctant to revisit anything with him. I’ve come to expect amazing, witty, real like characters from this talented author. No disappointment here. Tyler and Delaney are perfect. These two characters have such a wonderful chemistry. The way they can pick up and interact so effortlessly especially after so much time apart made this an enjoyable reading experience. Delaney is another one of Lauren’s strong, independent, sassy women. Her hesitancy to reconnect with Tyler is understandable because her history of having the important men in her life leave without an explanation. But, after everything fell apart with Tyler, she took control of her life and decided to do what makes her happy. I love that. And Tyler…oh Tyler… that persistent man with the dirty and talented mouth. I could not get enough of him. He’s so charming and funny. When I said he would do whatever it takes, I meant it! The man bared it all at her workplace! He is a risk taker at his job and his love life. Fair warning, prepare to swoon because his relationship with Clay’s daughter is ovaries exploding adorable. A personal note, Tyler’s love for the Los Angeles Dodgers sealed the deal for me. <3 <3 <3 He so dreamy. The Hot One is another Lauren Blakely hit worth picking up. I highly recommend doing so. You won’t regret it.

A hot book with mad chemistry!

**Advanced copy received from the author in exchange for an honest review** Lauren Blakely is one of those authors that you know you are going to get a bit of everything in her books - emotion, humor and hotness - and The Hot One is no exception! This standalone title gives us the story of Tyler Nichols, an entertainment lawyer, who runs into his ex-girlfriend, Delaney Stewart, eight years after breaking up with her. He realizes when he sees her that his attraction to her hasn't waned, but are the other feelings that he had still alive and well? After running into Tyler, Delaney is a mess. She tries to go on running her day spa, Nirvana, like nothing has changed, but everything has. Tyler has always been the one that got away and now that he's back, can she let him back in or will her walls go up in an event to keep her from getting hurt again? It's clear that Tyler and Delaney have mad chemistry and the history they share together is deep and passionate. The question is can they overcome the baggage that they both have, from both their break-up and other factors they are dealing with in their own lives, to give their relationship another chance? This book is full of humor, heat and a dirty talking hero. Who doesn't like that?! I liked that this was a slow build and they took their time figuring out where they stood and where any type of relationship should go. The emotional layers and vulnerability in this book lead to Tyler and Delaney being able to connect as the people they are now and not who they were years prior. I would highly recommend any Lauren Blakely book, as you can't go wrong, but this one is definitely high on the list!
