  • So good!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed The Hunted. I don’t normally choose to read a paranormal book. But when one of my favorite authors writes one, I jumped on this. I loved this book, it intrigued me and I couldn’t put this down. I was so hooked and I was so addicted to this storyline. I loved Sam and Layla, and their steaming hot chemistry! I cannot wait for book 2, it can’t come soon enough!

  • Vampire fiction with a twist....LOVED IT!

Supernatural books were always my go-to genre, it’s been a quite a while since I read one…they all started to feel the same. This book packed the punch it took to relight my interest in Vampires and Shifters, and now I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! I loved the connection between Layla and Sam. The author makes you feel their every emotion. Great story twists in the Vampire v. Human world, with a cliff-hanger that you makes you wonder if you can hang on ‘till the next book in the series is released…..might have to try another paranormal series by SB to tide me over…The Vampire Navy SEAL here I come I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • A page-turner!

Reviewed by Rylanne Burdette for Readers' Favorite In rotating perspectives from Sam, a vampire, and Layla, a human vampire hunter, The Hunted by S.B. Alexander is a spicy and intense paranormal romance. When Layla’s job brings her into contact with Sam, a vampire with powers that are unique from most others, the two immediately hate each other but also cannot help but feel a strong attraction at the same time. They end up begrudgingly working together after Layla’s sister gets kidnapped by a bad vampire and she needs help to get her sister back. Will the two enemies be able to resist the visible chemistry between them in the process? From page one, I was hooked on this story and could not wait to see what happened between Sam and Layla. Although I did find their relationship and feelings to be a bit too instant for my normal liking, I could tell that there was something different about them that caused their bond to strengthen so quickly; will we get those answers in the second book? I certainly hope so! Romance is one of my favorite genres, and I love seeing characters have true chemistry with each other. I felt that with Sam and Layla; their banter and passion were amazing, and I cannot believe the book ended where it did! S.B. Alexander’s The Hunted was a wonderful book that kept me turning pages, wanting to find out what was going to happen next! There was a bit of mystery and intrigue sprinkled throughout the plot, and I cannot wait to see the series be continued!

  • Highly recommended

Reviewed by K.C. Finn for Readers' Favorite The Hunted is a work of fiction in the paranormal romance, suspense, and interpersonal drama subgenres and was penned by author S.B. Alexander. It was written for the adult reading audience owing to the use of explicit language and the presence of sexual content throughout. Part of the Vampire Navy SEAL series of romances, this enemies-to-lovers tale focuses on Layla, a vampire hunter who is well-practiced at her job. But when she lays eyes on the muscular bloodsucker Sam Mason, everything changes. Layla needs his help to save her sisters, but can she keep her conflicted feelings for him under control, or will Sam get everything he wants from her? Author S.B. Alexander certainly knows how to pitch a romance to keep her readers turning page after page. To begin with, this is a highly intriguing crossover combination where military precision in battle combines with supernatural deadly forces to produce some really exciting action scenes and a solid character basis for Sam. From there, Alexander’s intricate portrayal of the tough and hard-edged Layla, and her journey as she slowly loses her inhibitions around the tempting vampire SEAL, offers readers a chance to really sink into the tension all around her. So when the pair finally come together, the payoff is all the more enjoyable and emotive in all the right ways. The dialogue was also a strong point of The Hunted, serving to give a clear sense of the characters whilst also cutting in with some very slick humor and strong romantic themes. A highly recommended read for PNR fans everywhere.
