    Memoir

This was an interesting memoir of a Jewish family who settled in the Southern US to open up a drygoods store in 1920. The neat thing is that the author was in her 70s when she wrote it! I enjoyed her writing....it was as if she was a child again. She touches perhaps bit lightly on the hardships... But then she was a child at that time. It did give me pause for thought though.

Well written. Interesting story about a hard working Jewish family, their customs, and growing up in America.

great read! Read like a fiction but interesting that it was a true story about something I had never heard about before.

    The jew store

Good and informative. Sometimes a little bit to much off a documentary rather than a story. I loved Miss Bookie she was a strong consistent character
